I did not know about clobetasol propionate until today when I went to my doctor; but by then I had in desperation used collodial silver while waiting for my appointment and it was amazing, insant relief and no problem since. my doctor gave me a prescription just in case but from the research I have done I think collodial silver is a safer alternative for me

From what I gathered at the time of my treatment with clobesterol it is not intended to be used long term. It is prescribed to thicken the skin that has thined and is prone to severe itching and sometimes tearing or spliting.I believe it is a type of steriod cream and thats probably why it is only intended to be used as your physician prescribes it for this condition ( even though its not its originaly intended use ). I have to say it worked wonders for me .

Clobetasol Propionate is a steroid and it does not thicken skin. It thins it.
May 12, 2019 - 10:44pmThinning of the skin is what a steroid does. You might want to check again to see what you used as this is wrong information.

It is not prescribed to "thicken" the skin...per Anonymous 6/14/2011, It will thin the skin further, that is why you have to use it until condition is gone 2 x per day then 3 x per week when no symptoms are present.

Apparently this is being marketed in the Caribbean as "Tight Hole Cream" which seems to insinuate that it helps tighten the vagina up...

I am 31 years old and was just prescribed Clobetasol. I have been suffering from severe vaginal itching for 9 months. the OB diagnosed me with yeast infections over and over. For months i had small bumps on my vuvlar and was told they were normal. Finally i demanded a biopsy and i was diagnosed with VIN 1. I have read this is very often mis diagnosed. Well I just found out I am pregnant so that can not treat me for the VIN1 and have prescribed the Clobetasol for each relief. I am praying it works. They want me on it for 6 weeks. I urge all women with itch issues and bumps to have a biopsy done. I wish I had known sooner what was really wrong with me. I hope this helps someone.

I have been having vaginal itching for 2 years and have been prescribed clobetasol which did not work as well as desonide and triamcinolene, none of them worked, have finally had a biopsy which shows inverse psoriasis and am now taking dovonex, hope it works but so far the itching has not stopped, are there any natural ways to stop itching?

Cranberry31,
That is good news that you were able to receive a diagnosis, so that you know what the cause to your 2 years of itching.
