Q:

The chances of me being pregnant?

Well, like most whenever I am delayed around the time of my period I begin to worry.
My period tends to skip around a few days each month (one month the 19th, the next the 21st etc). 2 months ago I had my period on the 25th, and my last was on the 29th of january. It is now march 3rd and I have not yet gotten my period. Typically I wouldnt be worried- It's been the most stressful and emotional month I've had in years, and i know stress can delay periods. But on the 26th of frebruary a condom broke. Ive heard the chances of getting pregnant right before one's period is unlikely, but I am still upset about the matter. Am i pregnant or is it stress?

Hi Anonymous,
It is actually NOT your period that are you experiencing as it is impossible to have a menstrual cycle and be pregnant. Bleeding can occur while you are pregnant and should be followed up with your doctor.

I hope this helps.

im really not sure wen it stops, u should really talk to ur doctor about that. if im not mistaken the blood flow is usually for the baby. thats y with most women it stops wen they r pregnant. and i think its 4 days b4 ur period and 4 days after ur period that u could get pregnant.. but i cud b off a few so dnt go off wat im telling u. its either 4 or 6.

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for your question and for finding EmpowHER. Since you likely expected your period last weekend or earlier this week, you may want to take a pregnancy test to verify if you are pregnant. I know it may be scary, but it is the surest way to know if you are late, skipping, or pregnant. The event on the 26th would be too soon to tell if you are pregnant--it typically takes 10-14 days for a fertilized egg to make its way to the uterus and implant. Then a pregnancy test would detect the hormones you produce in pregnancy--those tests are super sensitive to that hormone, so if it's negative, you're likely not pregnant. If you skip, keep track of when you expected it to start, and any symptoms you have so you can relay those to a doctor if you end up needing to see one.
