Q:

Could I be pregnant?

Hi. So I'd like to start by saying I've always had an irregular period so it's practically impossible for me to track it. The last time I got my typical period was June 30th. Anyway, July 13th my bf and I had an accident and I had to take Plan B. This was my second time ever taking it and like the first time I had no immediate symptoms. On July 20th I started bleeding but it only lasted about 5 days (I usually last 9 days). After I finished bleeding my breasts began to feel sore and have since been sensitive to the touch. I believe 2 days after I stopped bleeding (July 27th...?) I took an at home test and it came back negative (because my sore breasts worried me). I didn't think anything of it until this past Wednesday (August 3rd). I started to get nauseous. The nausea has now lasted 3 full days and yesterday (August 4th) I had a low grade fever between 99-100 degrees. I again didn't think anything of it until my mom made a joke that I could be pregnant. So today (August 5th) I took another test and it again came back negative. I'm not trying to get pregnant but I'm worried that the breast sensitivity as well as nausea and low grade fever mean that I am. Is it possible that the earlier side effects are just from the Plan B and I currently have a bug? Or would you assume it's pregnancy despite the two tests? I can't just go to the doctors to get tested as I'm only 18. Thank you for your help.

Guide

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Typical side effects of the drug include: nausea, tender breasts, cramping and bleeding a few days after taking the pill. the vaginal bleeding you experienced was not your regular period, it was a side effects.
You are not pregnant, you are simply having side effects of the drug. The fever can also be a symptom of the flu or something of that nature.
You should not worry about pregnancy.
