I'm 25 year old Asian female.
I've had a dark vertical line in my thumb nail since I was 14.
It hasn't changed, it's not vivid black or brown, it's a little dark.
Its width is about 2 mm.
Do I have to see a doctor with this?

Hello Ciel63,
Welcome to the EmpowHER community. Thank you for seeking our help with your concern.
It is a good sign that the dark vertical line on your thumbnail has not changed. But, it is wise to have it checked by a dermatologist.
Causes range from a nutritional deficiency or imbalance to a form of skin cancer that affects the nail bed, called subungual melanoma. Generally, subungual melanoma only affects one nail.
Please keep us updated.
