Hello Anonymous,

Did you have unprotected sex between your last period in January and February 11?

If so, it is possible that you did not get your period because you are pregnant.

An emergency contraceptive, like the Ipill, prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation. If your period was due on February 10, ovulation passed, and the pill was of no use.

Please call your gynecologist today.

Maryann

Hello Anonymous,

Yes it does. Levels of hCG, which is the hormone produced during pregnancy, can be detected in urine about 12 to 14 days following conception. Levels are detected in blood about 11 days following conception.

Since you last had intercourse on January 21 and 22, and your period was due on January 26, you should have been passed ovulation.

Are you testing in the morning? You will get the most accurate result if you test with the urine when you first wake up.

If you have tested properly and are now 16 days late, consider speaking with your gynecologist about a blood hCG test.

Maryann

My due date was 5th February. I had protected sex on 1st February but the condom came off while pulling out. Plus my partner is 99.9% sure he did not come. I have irregular periods generally due to PCOS and I still haven't got my periods. Is there a chance I'm pregnant?

Hello Anonymous,

With a history of irregular periods and the fact that he did not ejaculate, a delay of five days may not be a big concern.
But, if you are late by more than one week, test, just for peace of mind.

Hello Anonymous,

Wait until your period is late by at least seven days. Then test, and in the morning for the most accurate result.
