Dear Anon

Thank you for your post. I am going to write to you on the assumption that you are female, although the same would go for a man!

You will need to get these lumps checked out by a medical professional. These lumps could be harmless cysts (sebaceous cysts) or an enlarged lymph node or even little lumps due to an ingrown hair or something else benign. But they could be something more serious.

Breast tissue extends into the armpit, which is why a full breast exam extends into that area. Some breast cancers begin in the arm pits. The good news is that many of these lumps are benign (non-cancerous).

But any lump, on any part of the body that appear, need to be examined carefully. As I said, it could be harmless, but a lump should never remain unchecked.

Please make an appointment as soon as possible and have these lumps evaluated. And will you update us?

Lumps in the armpit area are usually from lymph nodes, and have varying causes: from bacterial infection, benign cysts, fungal infection, etc.

Since you did not provide any additional information, I can not provide much more detail about your situation. You can read about Armpit Lumps at MedlinePlus, to see if any of these sound familiar to your condition.

Please write back with more questions!
