Only your surgeon can tell you why you still have drains in, but that's not a common practice after an abdominoplasty.
Most people do have tummy-tuck drains (as they are commonly called) after their surgery. They take away excess fluid that may linger and cause a serious infection.
Therefore you must still be draining fluid. This is concerning after 8 weeks. Please contact your surgeon as soon as possible to see why you are still draining fluids that should have been gone several weeks ago.
Have you had any fevers or illness since the tummy tuck?
Can you update us when you know more?
