Q:

I have ongoing burning and redness without an actual yeast infection

For four continuous months now I have had burning and redness down there. Every time I get tested for a yeast infection the test comes back negative. There is no discharge and itching comes and goes. The doctor has no idea what to do with me. There's nothing I could be allergic to either because I've been through the ringer trying to eliminate the possibility of allergies. I've tried every kind of treatment including apple cider vinegar, and prescribed treatments. Nothing helps. I'm about to start taking anti-fungal pills once a week for 6 months and cut out sugar, carbs and alcohol (a challenge in itself) because nothing else is working.

Has anyone else tried the diet? Do I need to cut out all carbs and fruit too or just limit them?

Any advice anyone could give would be very helpful.

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  As with any diet, you might want to reduce the intake of carbohydrate.  Especially starches and sugar.  You might want to try low carbs instead. Nuts, legumes, fruits, vegetable, milk, grains and seeds.  Anon, have you seen a specialist? such as an OBGYN?

Best,

Daisy
