An infection, such as a bacterial infection or localized abscess, can appear as a spot on the gums. Oral Traumatic injuries and canker sores are some of the more common causes of a spot or a pimple on the gums. Bleeding gums are caused by inadequate plaque removal. Plaque contains germs which attack the healthy tissue around the teeth. This will cause the gums to become inflamed and irritated, which may cause them to bleed when brushing or flossing. This is called Gingivitis and is the first stage of gum disease.

See your dentist about these issues. In the meantime, brush twice daily, floss once per day (even if gums bleed) rinse twice a day with warm salted water.
