If a person is allergic to Codeine does that mean she is allergic to Morphine also?

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. That is a very good question.

Codeine, which is a narcotic pain killer and cough suppressant, and Morphine are similar and are classified as opiates, which are derived from the opium poppy.

If a person has a true allergy to Codeine, that person would be allergic to Morphine.
