If you cramp a week before your period, spot then bleed heavy for two days and spot after are you pregnant?

I started cramping a week before my period was due. I was spotting for two days then I began to have heavy bleeding for two days. After the two days of heavy bleeding I began to spot for two days and then nothing. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. My mom and sister thinks it may be to early to detect pregnancy but i think I'm not..although the period was not as heavy as I'm used to and the fact that I don't usually get cramps during my period. Should I take another test? Is something wrong with me?

Not sure if i can ask a question here but here goes..

I had unprotected sex on multiple occasions inbetween 10 days before my period started which was on the 23/3
I had cramps, then on the 22/3 i had really really light bleeding then on the 23rd i got what looked like my normal period, it lasted for about 4 days then stoped and about 2 days after my period had completly stoped i went to the toilet and wiped and had blood but that was the only time ihad the blood after my perods hd finished. This isent normal for me and were trying to get pregant is it possible that im pregnant or have i had a miscarridge?
At the beggining of my periods it was light light brown colour then was orangy pinkish then normal.

Or is it just my period being all wierd? I took a pregnancy test and it was negitive.

If you have a menstrual period that lasts for 4 days, even if it is different length of time than your "usual", this would still count as a menstrual period. Menstrual bleeding can be different colors as well, from brown to red to pink.

It is most likely not a miscarriage, as if you had sex only 10 days before your expected period, you technically were not pregnant yet (it takes 10-24 days for the process...from ovulation to fertilization to implantation, as it takes a while for the egg to travel and implant). A viable pregnancy is one where a fertilized egg implants itself into the uterus, and the bleeding you experienced at the time of your period sounds like a menstrual period. Correct me if I'm misunderstanding the dates you provided.

Any pregnancy test that you take, at the time of your period, would be about 99% accurate at detecting any pregnancy hormone. You can always re-test a week later, if you want to confirm the results.

Anon,

Let me be sure I have this correct.

Last month you would have started your period on the 11th, is that right? So that would be Day 1 of your cycle.
And you finished on the 16th, which would be Day 5?
You had unprotected sex on the 24/25, which would be Day 13/14
8 days before you expected your next period (So I'm thinking that's about Day 20? about a week after you had sex?) you started spotting
Day 20/21/22 spotting
Since then: cramping and more bleeding

Do I have that right? And you are still bleeding and cramping?

First, please know that it's not unusual for our hormones to change during a month and to cause havoc with our cycle. Especially if you're under a lot of stress or have had any changes in medication, amount of exercise, diet and so forth.

But if this has been a normal month for you, I would call the office of your healthcare provider and let them know what is happening. You had sex right around the time you would have been ovulating, if I had the time elements right, and it seems possible that you might have gotten pregnant but then it didn't implant or it miscarried, and your cycle was affected. There's just a small chance of that, but since your bleeding and your pain isn't going away, I would definitely recommend that you get it checked out. Will you do that for us?

For the past lile 3 months, I would start spotting with cramps with light pink or light red blood like 3 to 5 days before my period would start what could this be? Also my period comes earlier than usual maybe 4 to 5 days sooner. I'm so worried what can this be?

Anon,

It might be nothing at all to worry about. It's common for our periods to change sometimes, depending on the levels of our hormones, the time of year, and other things like medicines, diet, stress and exercise.

And sometimes our cycles change even when we aren't sure what could be causing it.

So are you saying that your periods used to come, say, 28 days apart and now they come more like 23 days apart?

Is the spotting in addition to your period? Like, if your periods used to be 4 or 5 days long, does the spotting now make it all about 8 to 10 days long?
