Hi, I have been on Dosegen for almost 2 years and im a thursday starter. I just finished having my period and I was supposed to start my new pack yesterday. I forgot to take it and that night i had sex with my boyfriend twice, once protected and once unprotected. I didn't realize until friday that I had forgotten thursday so I took two around 6:30 pm. I was going to go to planned parenthood today to get plan b but I want to know if I am at that big of a risk?

Hi alison im the one with no insurance. Well thanks for your response. I have been going to planned parent hood the past yr for my bc. ANd yes i am human an make mistakes, dont have the best memory and i already kno that this birthcontrol isnt very suitable for me. BUt that is not what i was looking for imformation on. I basicallly was looking if anyone has had this happen to them and if they ended up pregnant or not. simple enough. i kno my body and doesnt feel right. i started to think today maybe i have mono again bc ive had that drowsy feeling the past week or so..
Again I missed 3 pills in a row doubled up the next day then missed again the next day then double up but began spotting that day for about a week. MAjority of it was dark brown. Heard about implantation bleeding .. just worried. bc now its a week after missed period been gettin lower back pains an wierd cramps past couple days but no af.

Hi,
Sorry if my response came across as a lecture; not my intention at all. My intention is that you take good care of yourself, and I primarily wanted you to know that women DO miss taking their pills (as I mentioned), and that there are birth control options that would be better suited for your lifestyle; sounds like you know this.

Regarding your question: you want to hear from women who either have or have not become pregnant from missing 3 pills in-a-row, doubled-up, then missed another pill, then doubled-up again? I'm not sure if you will receive a response that is this specific, but there are many women who have become pregnant from missing pills in any manner: missing 1, or 2, or 3....in-a-row or just once. The pill, in it's perfect use, is "only" 99% effective, and women can still become pregnant even when using is consistently & correctly. We have a few discussions about women who have become pregnant this way: I Became Pregnant While Taking Birth Control Pills.

If you want to hear from other women, you may want to create your own ASK question, as I'm concerned that your question is getting lost in this on-going thread.

Spotting for a week is most likely not implantation bleeding, and may have just been a strange period due to the hormonal fluctuations from being on/off your hormonal contraception (again, not a lecture...it's a fact and happens to many women!). Implantation bleeding may/may not occur to women, and would only be a small spot over one-day. If you had bleeding over a week's worth of time, regardless of amount or color, that was most likely menstrual bleeding. If you still have negative home pregnancy tests after missing your period, you may not be pregnant, as these tests are very effective at picking up the pregnancy hormone after a missed period.

I hope this helps

Hi I have a question,
I've been on trivora for 6 years now, and missed friday and saturday on my second week. I did what the instructions said and took two pills on sunday, and then two pills on monday and am now caught up. I had unprotected sex on those two days I forgot to take my pill. I was wondering if this made it so I was more susceptible to being pregnant?

Happy123,
Yes, anytime you miss pills, the effectiveness rate of the birth control pill can be decreased and you have a higher risk for pregnancy.

The pill is 99% effective at preventing pregnancy when used consistently and correctly every time. When used in a manner that is less than "perfect use", the effectiveness rate can decrease to 80% or below.

The best way to make sure you're still protected is to use alternative form of contraception (condoms) for the 7 days after you miss the pills (I'm sure the instruction booklet says to do this).

Hi,
Ive been on the pill for 6 months now, Saturday starter but realised on Monday I had missed Sat and Sun pill, took 2 Mon, and then 1 each day until Thurs when I took 2 again to catch up to the same day ( 2 in one day made me nauseous). Been back on track again but had unprotected sex last night (Tues night).
Was wondering if you could give me the odds of a pregnancy with the information I have given.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Okay so Im a Monday starter..I had previously two months ago stopped birth control that I had been taking for about a year.. Well I got off for two months then decided to start back up. I've curently been back on birth control for exactly 2 weeks now. I had sex my last day for the second week (Sunday) , and I had unprotected sex. He said he didn't precum or anything..but I could smell it the next day and see it. I might be over reacting but is there any chance that I could turn out pregnant for only being on for 2 weeks? I take YAZ..and my second week I missed a pill but took it the next morning but havent skipped since.. am I most likely okay? It was my first time having sex.

I believe the instructions on Yasmin say to "use alternative form of protection for the first 7 days"...is this correct? Some birth control say to use alternative forms (condoms) for up to 14 days.

If you have been taking your birth control pill consistently and correctly for 14 days, then the effectiveness rate is about 99%. You mentioned you missed 1 pill, and took it as soon as you remembered. This may/may not cause the effectiveness to decrease, but not significantly enough to worry about it.

One note: all men who have an erection have "pre-cum" (called "pre-ejaculatory fluid") on their penis whether they think they do or not. This fluid is present as the man's penis becomes erect, and can be wiped off...but it may contain sperm. Either way, if you could "see it" the next day...it sounds like you are not talking about "pre-cum" but either he ejaculated or you are noticing your own secretions.

Anyways my last period was july 9th lil over a month. 2 weeks after that on the 23 i misplaced my pack an missed 3 pills. then the 26 i took 2.. then forgot again monday then took 2 again tuesday. But tuesday morning i woke up an began a week of spotting. never enough for a tampon, or a pad. It went from brown to dark reddish brown to like an hour of red then back to brown then stopped. i had no cramps at all during any of this which was weird. it has now been a week since i stopped. But the past couple days been getting weird feeling little pains. idk whats up still no normal period. could i be pregnant?? already took some test all came out negative. im affraid to resume my pills in the case i may be pregnant.. PLEASE any advice would be great or if youve experienced this.. i had myself pretty convinced i was preggo. i have had unexplained headaches the past like 5 days. exhaustion hit a week an a half ago.. im affraid it could be somethng worse. i dont have insurance.. so its hard to go to the doctor.
