Q:

Low and slow rising hcg levels at 4-5 weeks

My lmp was 06/15/11. On 07/12/11 my hcg was 62 and my progesterone 42. Two days later on 07/14/11 my hcg was only 74. Today, 07/18/11 my hcg has only risen to 87 and my progesterone is 36. But I have no bleeding and only very, very mild cramping, just a twinge, that I've had for two weeks. My OB says I will miscarry any day and that the pregnancy is definitely not viable. Is there any chance she is wrong? Thank you for all responses.

Hi,
I am so sorry and wish I could offer something positive and hopeful. Your obstetrician is correct. Normally, hCG levels double every 48 to 72 hours and increase as the pregnancy progresses. My thoughts go out to you.
