Thanks for your post! Usually if you miss one pill and make up for it the day after, you are still protected by the pill. A birth control pill can be up to 99.1% effective when taken exactly as prescribed-- this means that if she took it one day (or 10 hrs) late, the effectiveness of the pill was slightly decreased by still very effective. There is a slight possibility of getting pregnant (due to the fact that she didn't take it as prescribed one day) but the odds are against it.
Remind your friend that it is important to take her pills as prescribed in order to take advantage of her birth control's maximum effectiveness.
