I took both pills in one dosage, is this dangerous or less effective? Also, what are the usual side effects after taking the pills and how soon after? I took the pills about a 17 days ago and now I'm spotting ( not heavy but blood is present). Could this be a side effect?

This is withdrawal bleeding, which is bleeding in between periods, and is caused by taking Postinor 2.
There was no need to take the emergency contraceptive because you were not ovulating when you had intercourse the evening that your period ended. Without ovulation, there was no egg to be fertilized and thus no pregnancy.
Do not be surprised if your next monthly period comes earlier or later than expected. This is one side effect of taking an ECP.

No, Postinor 2 and all other emergency contraceptives work to prevent a pregnancy from happening and do not terminate a pregnancy.
If you have made your decision to end this pregnancy, you must consult a gynecologist.
There are a number of different methods of abortion. The method recommended for you will depend on how many weeks pregnant you are. Broadly speaking there are two types of abortion – medical and surgical. A medical abortion is carried out using medication while a surgical abortion involves a minor operation.

You will find the actual dose and directions on the package. Postinor 2 is most effective if taken within 72 hours following unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. The earlier the better. The second tablet is taken 12 hours after the first dose.
