Q:

For over a week the nipple on my left side breast has been paining.

The pain is directly at the bottom of the nipple and it hurts to the touch proving to be a problem when I have a bath & wear clothes that seem to brace that nipple. Now I have noticed that there is a swelling on the nipple as well, it looks like a little clear bump. Please advise me.

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for asking us for advice.

Can you see any fluid in this bump? By any chance are you breast feeding?

This little clear bump may be a blister caused by friction to the area.

Wash gently, Wear loose fitting clothes. Once the source of the friction has been found the blister should quickly heal on its own.

If it doesn't go away on its own, or if the pain gets any worse, please call your doctor, who can do a physical exam.

Regards,
Maryann
