Sore under breasts

From everything I have read and researched, I still have not found the correct answer to what causes and or why I have these sores. Under my left breast, I have sores that are white and red in shape. They are painful, break open and stinks badly. I shower all the time and put powder under my breasts, but this is not helping. The sores break open and when it does, it looks like a white-head pimple but it wont come out when its squezzed. I don't want to make it worse by squezzing it. Each time I shower, the sore re-opens. Can anyone please tell me by my discription I have posted what this may be from?

Anon,

Can you answer a couple of questions for me?

Do the lumps seem to be linked to your cycle at all? In other words, do they seem to come around the same time of the month each month? Or are they always there?

Are you heavy-breasted?

Are you an athlete, or someone who sweats a lot?

And this only happens under one breast, not the other? Ever?

Have you ever had a clogged or irritated sweat gland, hair follicle or a boil? They can get infected and filled with pus, which could be responsible for the smell you detected. Here's some information:

And here is one possiblity, from the Mayo Clinic:

and another, on boils and carbuncles:

Have you shown these to your doctor? If they are infected, an antibiotic may be needed to get them to go away.

The sores are there all the time and does only occur under my left breast. I would say that I am semi heavy breasted; 36C. I don't think I am a heavy sweater, however I do work out. These sores are always there whether I am cold, hot, working out, not wearing or wearing a bra. I have not seen a doctor about this as I have thought this was somewhat normal. I will check out the websites you have listed and see if these help. Thank you, Tiffany

Tiffany,
It would be advisable for you to make an appointment with your doctor, as these sores that smell badly are not "normal" in the sense of "everyone has a pimple now-and-then". There may be a very easy treatment, such as antibiotics, without an underlying medical condition (meaning: don't be afraid to go to the doctor; it could be very simple!), but anytime a body part "smells badly", that indicates an infection and should be medically evaluated. Infections can worsen over time, and become more difficult to treat, so please call today!

Please let us know what your doctor says!
