TTC- stopped birth control after period

Hi. Me and the hubby are trying to conceive and I'm fairly new at tracking my cycle. I'm on bc that is a 28 day cycle. I stopped taking the bc after the 3rd pill on the first week (02/11/15). We had sex on the 4th day (02/12/25 - missed 1 pill). After a couple of days, I got breakthrough bleeding and it was heavy with a lot of clots. Had sex again after it stopped bleeding, which lasted 3 days. My question is: is there a chance I could be pregnant or did the breakthrough bleeding affect the chances?

Hello Anonymous,

The breakthrough bleeding, which was triggered by stopping your birth control pills, included the lining of your uterus. You will need to wait at least one more menstrual cycle for hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle to get back to normal and the lining of the uterus to build up.

Regards,
Maryann
