What are you taking for menopause and emotional instability?

I just came back from seeing my doctor and we talked about how I'm feeling years after having my ovaries removed (I was 36 then and now I'm 51). So, he suggested I start HRT right away to help with the symptoms of insomnia/hot flashes/ emotions/ etc. What are your comments and what has helped you? Anyone out there without ovaries experiencing something similar? Ida

Hi Ida

Thanks for posting this question!

I hope that women currently in or post menopause can give you the benefit of their experiences.

i know that HRT isn't suitable for many women, especially for those with a history of female cancers but has been a tremendous relief for others.

We have a Menopause support group that you can also take a look at to see if there are posts in there than can help - you can find this group here: http://www.empowher.com/groups/menopause

We also have a Menopause Center where you can read tons of articles on HRT - start here: http://www.empowher.com/condition/menopause . You'll also find articles on natural treatments too.

I hope this helps!
