I took another blood test to is if I am really pregnant. And my hcg level is 8. I am scared because it supposed to be higher. What does this mean.

Human Chorionic Ganadotropin (hCG) is only produced during pregnancy. It's made by cells formed in the placenta and is the hormone that is looked for in home pregnancy test and blood test.

Did you speak with the medical professionals that administered the test? A rate of 5 or less indicates you are not pregnant, so anything higher is pregnant. However the situation could be cause for concern if your numbers don't increase soon. Your HCG numbers should increase rapidly. Did they advise of anything? Do they want you to come back to another test administered?
