Hi Anon

A medically induced coma is literally that - a very ill person is sedated to the point of coma (unconsciousness) in order to survive their injury.

People with severe burns are sometimes medically induced because they bodies could not take the shock of the burn and the pain would be unbearable. For others, it's to allow proper breathing via a respirator.

People generally don't move but sometimes can. They are also given oxygen to make sure they can breathe.

Coming out of a medically induced coma can be a difficult and painful process, as well as very confusing and traumatic for the patient.

Based on the injury, patients will react and progress differently.
