Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer!

Breast Repair/Reconstruction can be done at any point after a mastectomy. Many women start looking for a surgeon even before the mastectomy is performed. You can start looking for a surgeon if you have not done so already. Consult with several surgeons. Ask lots of questions pertaining to their years in practice, nipple/areola reconstruction, symmetry, breast sensations, and if you are considering implants then also doing some research on augmentation would be helpful to you.

Don't be afraid to ask your doctor questions-- if a doctor can't be bothered to answer all of your questions, then he has no business operating on your body.

All the best,

Rosa
