ask: WHY ARE MY Areolas DARKER THEN USUAL?

I notice after my breast starting hurting just a while back that my areolas were darker then usual. Is that normal or not? why or why not? why is this happening?. if you have answer please let me know. thanks(:

Darkening of the areolas could be hormone-related, depending on the timing of your menstrual cycle, and is also a sign of pregnancy (from the hormones). There are some conditions that cause darkening of the areolas, but have other symptoms (such as flaky/scaly skin on the nipple).

I am more concerned about the breast pain you are experiencing, and this coupled with skin changes of your breast, we would highly recommend that you make an appointment with your gynecologist to rule out any health conditions. Pain in a woman's breasts are not uncommon, but should be medically evaluated.
