Why do certain foods cause gas?

I noticed when I eat certain foods (cabbage, beans, brussel sprouts) they cause gas, bloating and discomfort. Are there any ways to avoid this discomfort when eating these foods?

Hi Anon

Thanks for your question!

These are foods that naturally cause gas due to their levels of sugar, fructose and fiber. And many of these are really healthy foods!

To avoid gas, avoid the foods that cause it. You can also try to eat these foods very slowly and to use a supplement before eating like Beano that can stop the gas before it starts.

Has this helped?
