Why is my skin so dry at age 50?

I had a complete hysterectomy, is this the cause of my dry skin? What is the treatment for this

Yes, menopause is likely to be the reason you are experiencing dry skin. It's a very common side effect of menopause. You are still young but a full hysterectomy will put you into full menopause. 

One way to deal with this is to go on hormone replacement therapy. If you have a history of breast and/or reproductive cancers you cannot do this but if not, it can help with dryness significantly. Is this an option for you?

You can also make sure to use a heavy, moisturizing night cream and also a day cream, reapplying when necessary. 

Some women swear by collagen shots for moisture to their hair , skin and faces. Talk to a dermatologist about your options.
