Merry-Go-Round
Crushing anxiety
The kind that pushes
Down on your chest and tightens its grip
The Punisher laughs.
You deserve this.
You will pay for your mistakes.
There aren't even any tears to cry.
You are dry, empty, forsaken for hours
For days.
Frenetic energy tosses you like a bobber
On a lake, yet you sit four hours staring at that stark white wall
Trying to control the war inside
The Punisher cannot win.
Is she wounded just like me?
Help!
Quietly I hear a welcome voice inside my heart
"Punisher, I release you."
She snickers, "I'll be back, dear one. Enjoy the Merry-go-round."

Hello Amy,
You have captured and expressed, so eloquently, the turmoil associated with bipolar I disorder. Thank you for sharing.
