Two yrs ago started the bio hormone cream Bi-Est..I'm 62 have a uterus and my ovaries...did the cream for 7 mos...levels were climbing too slow...so did the sottopelle..1st set everything fine...second set....started bleeding and it's been over 6 mos still bleeding...going for ultrasound to rule out fibroids etc...I've come to conclusion if you have a uterus you will face these bleeding issues period..no pun intended...right now bleeding heavy with cramping dr. said Ablation would take care of that...you'd think after 7 mos and no new implants there'd be no hormones left...I'm just thinking of no more hormones..but then get the hot flashes..painful intercourse..trigonitis bladder symptoms return...what's a person to do..just trade one set of problems for another..and it's just deciding what you can live with...

I have used sotto pelle for the past 7 years and I cannot imagine my life without it. Since I got on it my sister and several friends also got on it and they love the way it makes them feel. My doc told me that the estrogen pellet and testosterone pellet improve circulation to the brain and I notice it in my mood and memory!

I use sotto pelle and it was a life saver. I have vulvadynia and it helped with that, sex drive, mental acuity, less irritability, etc. I do take bio identical progesterone by mouth along with the S-P insertions (I can tell after about 4-5 months when I need another insertion). According to my blood work I need 2 pellets of estrogen and 1 of testosterone.

I'm 62 had no period for 14 yrs,and still have my uterus...close to a yr ago started the biodentical cream..was taking too long to build up..so I got the Sottopelle pellets..testosterone and estrogen and SL progesterone...after the second set of implants and aprox. 6 mos later..I started bleeding for 2 wks at a time..went to my GYN..he put me on 200 mg of prometrium..they cost $100 for 30 pills..well after 26 days of excruciating stomach symptoms..including bleeding rectally and considering going to the emergency room..I finally connected, it had to be the prometrium..so I stopped them..I'm fine now. Conclusion..we trade one set of problems for another. I originally started bioidentical hormones in hopes of curing a chronic condition i was diagnosed with 10 yrs ago...Trigonitis...it did help..as I've not had to take any macrodantin now for 3 mos, after taking them for 10 yrs. For each person it's just what you're willing to deal with...weighing pros and cons..I did put on weight, and got puffy..on the positive side..no more hot flashes, more libido and stronger orgasm, more physical sexual feeling. I'm waiting to talk to my GYN and see if maybe having a period would eliminate the bleeding for 3 mos at a time off and on. I'm now thinking about going back to the cream or gel..as it's easier to adjust dosage or deal with any symptoms !

Still have stomach symptoms...pain, bloating, diarrhea...even after I stopped taking or applying progesterone..just not as severe...but still hard to endure..due for 3rd pellet implant of testosterone and estrogen April 13th..as I said ...we just trade one set of problems for another and it's just a matter of what you can live with..thinking of not doing the bioidentical hormones for now anyways...seems like a roller coaster ride !

I got my first sotto pelle implant a week ago. For a month, I've been on Aldactone 100mg per day for high aldosterone, but my testosterone levels were very low. My estrogen was fine.
I was having trouble concentrating, weight gain, extreme facial hair, low energy.
Since receiving the pellet, I feel jittery and am having wild mood swings. Has anyone else had these symptoms and do they get better? The site of the implant is terribly sore to the touch. I don't even think of lying on that side at night. I expected so much more from this treatment and so far, I'm so disappointed, I don't think I would try it again.

After two weeks with the pellet, I am loving it. All the other side effects I was experiencing faded away and I feel great. So much energy and libido out the roof. I am still sore from the implant site but was told that is normal.

If your breasts get tender try 2000 mg of Evening Primrose Oils capsules every day and that should fix it.

I've just had my 5th insertion of the pellets. I am 52 years old and i work with the public and have talk to many of my clients about the pellets. Majority of them that havent had hysterectomies have had trouble with breakthrough bleeding..also leading them to ablations or hysterectomies. I have read everyones comments on here. I can relate to them all. Im glad that i finally was able to find something to give the relief from all the symptoms of menopause i had for many years. The only downfall that im very disappointed in is the bleeding from fibroids that can happen if you havent had a hysterectomy. I did great for one year then started to spot and then would get heavier..and is happening like every 2 to 3 weeks. I was on 200 mg of progesterone for 14 days every three months untill a month ago and tried 100 mg everyday to see if it would help with the breakthrough bleeding since everyones body reacts different. But unfortunately its not helping me with the bleeding. So im gonna go back to taking the progesterone 200mg every 3 months. I had a edomet. biopsy of the fibroids a couple months ago it was not cancerous. But the fibroids do show up more on the pellets and thats why for the breakthrough bleeding from the fibroids.. So my next opton is to have an ablation to hopefully stop the breakthrough bleeding or a hysterectomy..but i will try the ablation first.. eventually within the next few months to be able to continue the pellets. Also taking the progesterone 100mg everyday had made my breasts EXTREMELY tender allover and i really am not feeling very well right now having the breakthrough bleeding and the extreme breast tenderness and just dont feel good at all. I know its hormone related somehow also. Hope this will pass soon. Because i have had the GREAT feeling that you can get fron the pellet insertions..it just isent happening right now.
December 22, 2011 - 6:28pmAlso i think anyone thats had a hysterectomy seems to have the best luck with the pellets. That way you dont have the breakthrough bleeding..having to get an ablation or hysterectomy and the side effects from the progesterone.
If anyone has had the same experience similar to this please let me know. Thank you.

Don't do it!
November 30, 2011 - 9:10pmI was a Sotto Pelle patient, and had an awful experience. Went to see "the" doc for this, and got a testosterone pellet. Within a few weeks, I developed a massive breast lump (never had anything like it), had reset my menstrual cycle and put on 10 pounds (have been the same weight since college). Every complaint I had, the guru doc told me was attributed to something else, like, he wouldn't accept responsibility for the fact that the hormones caused every symptom. I DID feel better for a few weeks, no doubt, but that wore off quickly, and I thought I was due for another pellet. Not so. I was told my levels were all really high. So, now I had a ton of negative side effects, and was still feeling crappy. Also, I had three docs in the practice all review my case, and all three had different opinions on what I should take, how much, etc. One would think there was SOME consistency in prescribing - but not at all. This worried me tremendously, as I realized none of them really had a clue. For me, the side effects weren't worth it, and I now know why both my GP and GYN were mad at me for trying this. It's not regulated, and since hormone levels fluctuate so much during the day, there is no way to properly dose for supplementation. Now, 4 months later the hormones are out of my system, and I've been able to lose the weight and the breast lump is reducing in size, but, I'm miserable and unable to sleep again. Everyone should make their own informed choice.
