The Herb Lemon Grass Relieves Headaches and Migraines

Researchers from Griffith University report that the herb lemon grass can provide relief from headaches and migraines. Lemon grass has been found to keep human blood platelets from clumping as well as aspirin does.

Eugenol is an extract from the herb lemon grass that helps to prevent clots as well as aspirin does. Eugenol also releases serotonin. These traits are quite helpful in the case of headaches and migraines since these painful disorders disturb serotonin levels and blood platelet function.

"All of this makes perfect sense when considering that most pharmaceuticals are synthetic modifications of natural plants and herbs. Scientists will take a plant extract and modify it, patent it, and sell it to the public at a premium. But unlike natural extracts, pharmaceuticals almost always cause negative side effects and do not work as effectively as the real thing."

Australian aboriginal culture has traditionally used the herb lemon grass as a treatment for headaches and migraines.
