Dr. DiCampli:
A midwife is a healthcare provider who establishes care for women in the prenatal period during labor and delivery and following the delivery in postpartum care. Midwives offer alternatives to an in-hospital setting of birth and delivery in a more natural way.
It’s very safe. It’s optimal for a woman who is healthy and obviously, you know, at home you are not going to be doing any heroic measures or any high-risk pregnancy type deliveries. It’s just for the standard healthy woman with one baby in a non-breach position.
