Recognize Achievements with Praise

You build self-esteem in your child by recognizing and acknowledging achievements with praise. You helped her develop confidence as you encouraged her to attempt and subsequently, master crawling, walking and toilet training. You continue to build her feeling of self-worth by praising her for achievements in school and sports, when she makes the right choices and takes an active role in community service.
