Of course their risk increases. Again, because an increase in medical problems, but it is an individual question because there are women who are in much better shape in their 30s than they were in their 20s. So one thing we always recommend is good health, good preventative measures, and exercise is always one of the top things you recommend prior to pregnancy.

For women who are advanced maternal age, in other words, over the age of 35, we do have pre-gestational counseling and diagnoses. For those who may carry genetic abnormalities in their family, we do also have a lot of new exciting genetic methods of diagnosis that they can benefit from by counseling.

Later he went on to do his internship and residency at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. With more than 16 years experience, Dr. Ahdoot is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
