As a national board member of The National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition (www.hmhb.org) it is truly thrilling to bring you this news. Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies has launched its ground-breaking program, Text4baby (www.text4baby.org) and Sherri Shepard, Co-Host of The View, has lent her support to this vital program by creating a series of public service announcements encouraging women to sign up for this free service.

The Emmy® award-winning talk show host, comedienne and actress Sherri Shepherd recorded a series of radio public service announcements (PSAs) encouraging pregnant women and new moms to sign up for the text4baby service. The PSAs featuring Shepherd started to air on radio stations nationwide Feb.5. Click here to listen to the PSA. http://text4baby.org/flash/text4baby60%20A.1.mp3

In the PSA, Shepherd states:
"Hi, I'm Sherri Shepherd. You probably know me best as a co-host on 'The View.' More importantly, I'm a mom.

I talk to a lot of moms and I'll tell you what - we all want the best for our babies.

But each year more than a half million babies are born prematurely, and this can lead to serious health problems. The good news is that, now, if you're pregnant or a new mom, you can get easy access to information to keep your baby healthy.

It's through a free service called text4baby. Pregnant women and new moms get timely, expert health tips sent directly to their cell phones. The tips will help you care for your new child in each important phase of early development.

Get text4baby. Free messages on your cell phone to help you through your pregnancy and your baby's first year.

Just text baby, B-A-B-Y to 511411. That's baby, B-A-B-Y to 511411. For the health of your baby."

Text4baby is a free mobile information service designed to promote maternal and child health. An educational program of the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition (HMHB), text4baby provides pregnant women and new moms with information they need to take care of their health and give their babies the best possible start in life.

What a great idea. I just signed up to try it and the registration messages all say "Free Msg from Text4Baby" and it sends up to 3 per week. I haven't received anything yet but I look forward to seeing what this new service for moms has to offer.

Thanks for posting!
