What Inspires You To Advocate For Women's Sexual Health? - Patty Brisben (VIDEO)

Patty Brisben:

I started in this industry in 1983, and in the very beginning of my business I worked with, you know, all the women seem to be happy and healthy. As the years progressed I had found many of my customers that had come down with breast cancer. They had also had ill effects of vaginal pain disorders and so therefore, I had surrounded myself with some really wonderful people such as Indiana University, our researchers in that area, some wonderful doctors, and when I found that there was very little research when it came to, especially pain disorders, I had made a decision right then and there that I wanted to get more information for these women.

I wanted to have a foundation that was going to provide, not only information to women, but also our health care providers, people who were going to help us. Women’s sexual health is, in my estimation, is ten years behind what men’s is, and I think that, you know, we as women, have to stand up and demand that we get more information regarding our sexual health.
