Dr. Irwin Goldstein, explores why sexual health problems are often ignored by women. Dr. Goldstein has authored more than 325 publications in the field of sexual dysfunction, with 20 consecutive years of funding by the National Institutes of Health in this area. He is Editor-in Chief of The Journal of Sexual Medicine, the official journal of the International Society for Sexual Medicine.
Dr. Goldstein:
Sexual health problems are ignored to a major extent, but when there’s disparate libido in the relationship, when there’s distress by the individual, when the partner feels not loved or betrayed, when infertility issues result because you can’t have sexual intercourse, then those kinds of sexual problems need evaluation and management, and that’s why we have sexual medicine facilities.
