am I pregnant or just late

I cam off my contraceptive pill in November as it was causing me problems, I had a period on the 21st. Since then u have had what I thought were period pains but still no period. I have done countless pregnancy tests and each are negative. Also ovulation stick have came back that I am not ovulating. Could this be my body getting back to normal after coming of the pill causing the lateness or could I be pregnant and it's to early to tell?? I had unprotected sex on the 6th and 9th December. Any advice would be much appreciated as I am so confused

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for your question.

After you stop taking the pill, you may have only a two-week delay before you ovulate again. Your period would follow about four to six weeks after you take the last pill.

You may have tested too early. I suggest you wait until six weeks have passed since you took the last birth control pill. If your period has not started by then, you can retest.

Regards,
Maryann

Thanks for getting back to me. I took my last pill 4 weeks ago. Maybe I ovulated last week as I was on holiday I couldn't test to see if I did. It's so confusing not knowing what is going on. But hopefully won't be waiting to long now
