I am nineteen, i got and iud about four months before my husband came back from iraq. Well hes here and my sex drive is beyond low, driving both of us crazy! I eat very healthy and I'm very active. All the web sites i have looked at to find a solution have been for post menopausal women not spry little me. Im with you girl, anyone have a suggestion?

i feel the same as most of you. ive had my mirena almost 4 years now and ive gotten to the point where sex barely crosses my mind. it drives my husband crazy because i never want to have sex anymore. are there any remedies any1 of you have found to bring your sex drive back up?

I am having the exact same problem. I can't take it anymore. I loved sex pre mirena. My husband and I had a very healthy sexual relationship. I am thinking about getting mine removed too. I never want to have sex anymore. Its only been 2 1/2 months. But the change is so obvious and so destructive on my relationship- its just not worth it. Before Mirena I used the Nuva Ring and loved it. Tonight. . . I attempted to muster up whatever sex drive I could to have a romantic night with my husband. It ended abruptly when I found out he had masturbated earlier-b/c he doesn't get it from me enough anymore. That was the last straw for me. Mirena has got to go!

It sounds like a cliche, but I thought I was the only one! My sex drive was gone for the first 6 months I had my IUD, and caused a real problem in my relationship. I think it had a lot to do with how traumatic the insertion was, honestly. Luckily, it passed and our sex life is even better than it used to be!

I have had my mirena for 2 years and have had no sex drive since it was put in. I am thinking about having it taken out very soon. My periods have been painful when they never were before and my mood seems to be up and down.

My sex drive pre-Mirena was orginally through the roof. I loved sex I would go for it whenever I could. Post Mirena I have definitely noticed a decrease sex drive but it is still existent. I seem to feel like I want to have sex sometimes but the physical need for it isn't there all the time. But it seemed to work out for my boyfriend and I because the medications he is on makes his sex drive nearly non existent, or at least to me that is. 2-3x a week? Are you kidding? I used to want 2-3x a day! Now I can move down to his level more easily, but there is still tension b/c I need it more than he does.

I am also having this problem (no sex drive) and also difficulty losing weight. I absolutely love that my period is non-existant so it seems to be a difficult decision whether to have it removed. Any suggestions on what BC to try?

I think you should discuss this matter with your OB/GYN. If you feel you need a change in your birth control method, by all means speak up to your doctor!
