Hi. I've never had any intercourse. But recently, had a foreplay with my fiance. After giving him bj and hj, he did ejaculate. Some of the semen were on his hands. He wiped it off with a couple of tissues and we went back to kissing and hugging one another. There was an interval of 10-15 mins before he inserted his finger. And fingered me. Is there any risk of a possible pregnancy? I'm very scared right now. And the thing is, my period is irregular. I can't track the exact day of my ovulation. Please help.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for coming to us with your question.

Wiped off semen does contain sperm. Once the semen has dried, sperm is dead.

Your fiance wiped the semen off of his hands, Washing with soap and water would have been a better choice. Sperm can live outside the body for about 20 minutes.

The odds of any semen remaining on his fingers was very low. I do not think you were at a risk of becoming pregnant.

If your menstrual cycle is irregular, and you are becoming sexually active, consider scheduling an appointment with a gynecologist. Oral contraceptives are often prescribed to help regulate the menstrual cycle and offer protection against an unwanted pregnancy.

Regards,
Maryann
