only sypmtoms shes having is mild sore boobs on the side but on and off mild back pain sometimes and moodynes :/ she had that sypmtoms before her expected period and on now, i dont know what to do, ive practice everything to be safe and timed everytime we had sex :/ Sick worried right now :/

Hi iichiichi,

Thank you for reaching out to EmpowHER with your question! I can see you have answered similar questions in the community before and have experienced similar circumstances with your girlfriend.

That is great that you are taking precautions like this if having sex. Yes, at 17 your menstrual cycle can be very irregular, so it is very possible that is the case. If you are using condoms and taking precaution with the days of your girlfriend’s menstrual cycle, I would say she is most likely not pregnant. However, the only way to truly be sure is to use a pregnancy test.Sometimes periods can be late for a variety of reasons like stress, birth control, illness, travel, medications, etc.

Like I mentioned earlier, I see that this has happened several times to you and your girlfriend and it is worrying you sick. I suggest maybe using a back up birth control like the pill if it is going to cause so much stress.

I hope this has helped! Please keep me updated and let me know if you have further questions.

Best,
Erin
