On 3/10/15 I started to take the birth control pill. The problem is I would forget to take the pill, I have missed a pill or two by week but by the third week I stop taking the pill. On 4/4/15 I had sex and he came inside of me. Days before I was sexually active I was bleeding a bit. I figure this was happening because I was not taking the pill the right way.. Can I still be pregnant?

Hello Anonymous,
Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for coming to us with your question about possibly being pregnant.
Oral contraceptives prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. The daily dose keeps hormone levels constant. Once you stop taking a hormone containing or active pill, levels drop and the uterine lining sheds, thus the bleeding.
By not taking your birth control pills, you lost the "protection" and could have ovulated. By having intercourse, pregnancy is quite possible.
Consult your gynecologist, who can advise you. You may be told to wait and see if you have a period or when to take a pregnancy test.
