Postinor 2 prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation. It is most effective if taken as soon as possible. It is 95% effective if taken within 72 hours following contraceptive failure or unprotected intercourse. The second dose should be taken 12 hours after taking the first dose.
Research shows it has little effect if taken after ovulation.
That being said, you should be protected if you took the first pill within 72 hours.
It cannot be stressed enough that an emergency contraceptive pill is intended for emergency use and should not be used a regular birth control method.
Anonymous, please choose and use some type of birth control regularly.
