me and my boyfriend had somethin that afternoon in december., idk if it's sex or what. but i feel him almost inside me, and yes, i think i'm still a virgin. he said that it's not fully penetrated, he releases but not inside me. and i saw that.. after what happened i always feel dizzy every morning, and my period got delayed for about 2 or 3 days. i feel all the symptoms of being pregnant. i took 4 home pg test and it all said negative.. i've got my period for the last 3 months and not sure if 28-32 cycle. and now i didn't have my period. well not yet. it is due this week. my doctor said maybe all the symptoms are just because of psychological effect. but idk. i've got this belly, that i don't have before. idk if it's a baby bump or what. please help me!!! i'm only 17 and don't know what to do!

i got bothered because my research says that 'some women' can actually get their monthly period even if they're pregnant. ugggh. can't take this anymore, why's my period ain't coming yet. and that 'thing' happened hm, thrice? after that first in december. but however, 'i feel him inside me' but i think it's not fully penetrated everytimel we do that. and what do you think about that bump in my lower tummy? is it just fats or what? thank you, you're such a great help!

Hi henesey,

Where are you researching if women can maintain a pregnancy and still get a monthly period?

Some women may have spotting during their pregnancy but not a normal monthly period.

During the menstrual cycle,If no pregnancy occurs, the levels of progesterone falls and this along with the decreasing amount of estrogen, helps the built up lining of the uterus to separate and for menstruation to begin.

So, if a woman has heavy bleeding during pregnancy she is passing the developing baby and lining of her uterus.

If you have gotten a monthly period, all pregnancy tests have had negative results and your doctor doesn't think you are pregnant, this lower abdominal bump is not a sign of pregnancy.

Stressing out can be the reason your period is late to start.

Hello henesey,

To answer your question, let me explain what the hymen is.

The hymen a thin membrane that surrounds the opening to the vagina. Hymens can come in different shapes. The most common hymen in young girls is shaped like a half moon. This shape allows menstrual blood to flow out of a girl’s vagina.

An imperforate hymen is a thin membrane that completely covers the opening to the vagina. Menstrual blood cannot flow out of the vagina. This usually causes the blood to back up into the vagina which often develops into an abdominal mass and abdominal and/or back pain. Some teens may also have pain with bowel movements and difficulty passing urine.

If you do not have an imperforate hymen, you have no problems passing blood during your period and your partner has no problem inserting his penis into your vagina.

Your hymen is always there, before, during and after pregnancy.

You can become pregnant when you have unprotected vaginal intercourse, that is penetration with ejaculation, any time around ovulation.

Does this answer your questions?

Hello henesey,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. I am glad that you have seen your doctor about your concern. I am also glad you reached out to us.

Having a monthly period confirms that you are not pregnant.

The flow that you see when you have your period is the shedding of the lining of your uterus.
During pregnancy, the lining of the uterus stays intact or in place because that is where the baby is growing.

A virgin is someone who has never had intercourse. Intercourse is sexual activity, including penetration or insertion of a man's penis into a female's vagina and anal or oral sex.

henesey, since you are sexually active, please start using some type of birth control.

Wait and see if your period starts this week. You can figure out the length of your menstrual cycle. Using a calendar, mark the day you start your period. That day is day one. Mark the day you start your period the next month. Count the days in between and you will see how long your menstrual cycle is. Do this for every month and you will see a pattern.

Regards,
Maryann
