Over dosage of Postinor 2

I took both pills in one dosage, is this dangerous or less effective? Also, what are the usual side effects after taking the pills and how soon after? I took the pills about a 17 days ago and now I'm spotting ( not heavy but blood is present). Could this be a side effect?

It is still okay. Sorry, my error. Taking the second dose either five minutes earlier or later does not decrease its effectiveness.

There are different types of birth control-oral contraceptive pills, IUD, a patch or the Depo Provera injection. Sometimes, you may need to try different types of birth control pills or a different method before you find the one that suits you best.

To find the best method, you need to meet with your gynecologist. Making an appointment with a healthcare professional at a women's health clinic or Planned Parenthood is another option. A healthcare professional will present all the available options and help you find a birth control method that you fits your lifestyle.

It is not advisable to use an emergency contraceptive as a form of birth control. It is intended for emergency use only. You are putting your reproductive health at risk. The long term effects of improper use of emergency contraceptive pills is not yet known.

Hello Jennifer,
Repeat the test, being certain to follow the directions carefully. Postinor 2 can be 95% effective in preventing pregnancy if taken within the first 24 hours, which you did.

Hello Anonymous,

All you can do is wait for your body's hormonal balance to return to normal. In the future, read and follow the directions on the medication package. Taking more than the recommended dose of any medication poses a dangerous health risk.
