ovulation, pregnancy, implantation

Hi Empowher
Hope you can help.
I don't know whether you reached my last enquiry but i have some more additional questions.
Like i said in my previous e-mail, my cycle ranges from 28 days - 38 days.
I did some calculations on my fertile window and it was between 7th May - 25th May. I don't track my ovulation because i am not normally sexually active but yesterday things got overboard with my boyfriend. We did not have sexual intercourse BUT there was sexual contact. Sexual contact in the sense where he fingered me and i gave him a hand job. I feel awful and will never be doing it again. I don't even know how it all happened. Anyway, his penis was NEVER inside of me and even though he told me to come on top of him i was hesitant and was forced into that because he kept biting me and in all honesty i was scared. I can't remember if i had underwear on at that point but i know i wanted to keep something in between as a barrier just i in case he came and i know that there is a small risk of pregnancy that way too. Anyway, i tried to keep away from his penis as much as i possibly could - at no point was he inside of me! I gave him a hand job and he came but it was nowhere near my vagina (it was on the bed and wall).

Anyway, today i started to bleed but i am not sure if this is my actual period. I have read up on implantation bleeding but I'm not sure if implantation could happen this soon?
Also, what if i ovulated late? Would i be bleeding so soon?

Thank you so much for your help in advance.

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to our community with your concern.

Without penetration and ejaculation, there was no risk for becoming pregnant.

Wait and see if the bleeding continues to increase, like a normal period.

I cannot say when you ovulated or if you have. Without any risk for pregnancy, this is not implantation bleeding.

Regards,
Maryann

Hi Maryann. He did ejaculate but just not inside of me or on my vaginal opening.

How long does implantation typically last? Is it like a period? I just dont understand how it could be implantation bleeding so soon? I read that it usually takes up to 5 days for implantation to occur? Can it happen straight after too?

Hello Anonymous,

Implantation bleeding happens when the fertilized egg implants in the lining of the uterus.

This happens about six to 10 days following conception.

Implantation bleeding is pink or brown spotting, can last two to three days, never increases to a flow, like a period and goes away on its own.

Regards,
Maryann

Last question just for future reference. Can implantation happen straight after conception or does the process take time?

My flow today has slightly increased just not as much and is red.

Thankyou once again
