Q:

Is she really pregnant or is it a symptom of emergency contraceptive pill?

I had an unprotected sex with my girlfriend and she took the "unwanted 72", i.e., emergency contraceptive pill. She is normal without any pregnancy symptoms but the problem now is that she has not had her period. It has been one and a half month since she took the pills and there is no period. She did the pregnancy tests four times and the results are still negative. What is the reason for her missed period and is she pregnant? Please give me the answer as soon as possible!

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am so glad that you reached out to us for advice.

Has your girlfriend consulted her physician about this? If not, she needs to call her doctor's office as soon as possible. I do not know what could be the cause of no period for one and a half months and repeated negative pregnancy test results.

Blood test may be necessary to make a diagnosis. Please keep us updated once she has been seen by her doctor.

Regards,
Maryann
