Hello PD,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community and thank you for reaching out to us with your concern about your girlfriend.

During periods of high stress, the body produces high levels of cortisol. In response, certain bodily functions, including the menstrual cycle, are effected. The delay of five days could be the result of high cortisol levels due to her stress over exams.

Since you used protection, I do not think she became pregnant.

Please tell her to try to relax, and once exams are over, she should feel better.

Regards,
Maryann

Guide (reply to PD)

Hello PD,

I am not familiar with the pregnancy test, Prega News and I could not find information regarding how to read the test line. Therefore, I don't know what the second line being too faint would indicate.

I suggest your girlfriend get a blood pregnancy test to confirm a pregnancy. Then, if she chooses to terminate the pregnancy, she can discuss this with her gynecologist.

Regards,
Maryann
