They have been heavy, blood clots each time. Last time i went to my doctor they said. I just needed a different birth control. Im no longer taking the pill. I want a different method. But first want to figure out whats wrong. In the past i have had pelvic inflammatory disease twice. I always get hot , out of 365 days i do not turn on the heat. I will feel faint and have heat flashes, sweat alot. It is horrible. Just trying to figure this out

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for coming to us with your concern.

Irregular menstrual bleeding is associated with pelvic inflammatory disease. However, I am concerned that you are having heavy bleeding with clots every two weeks. This puts you at risk for iron deficiency anemia.

I wonder if the feeling of always being hot, irregular menstrual cycle and feeling faint might not indicate a problem with your thyroid gland.

Regards,
Maryann
