I thought I was allergic to latex, but it turns out that it is the spermicide that causes the unbelievable irritation on my delicate vaginal area. Through trial an error, I have figured out several brands that work great with no irritation but recently used a brand known for it's larger sizing not realizing they are actually made by the same company I have learned to avoid at all costs.
February 4, 2015 - 12:17pmI would suggest trying Lifestyles or Durex brands as those never give me any irritation issues.

Now that I think about it Durex didn't cause that irritation the way Trojan & Magnums did. Thanks for your comment

I've had sex using Trojan and every time I get this unbelievable itching/pain. To the point where I want to rip my vagina out. I bought female condoms to hopefully fix the problem...

Hi Anon,
This doesn't sound like an allergic reaction but you do need to get seen by your Gynecologist. Honestly, it could be something as harmless as fatty deposits but you don't want to take the chance of it being a vaginal infection or an STD.
Please keep us posted,
Rosa

I think I'm having the same problem but I'm not really sure.
January 3, 2011 - 11:41amI don't know I'd it's necessarily itching. I feel like I have to go
To the bathroom non stop. I recently just got rid of a urinary
Tract infection and it was gone so me and my boyfriend have had sex twice since then and both times we used a condom and after both times i've has the same problem. Is it an STD or just irritation of some sort??? HELP

Absolutely. As Tina said, she may be suffering from an allergic reaction. Personally, this is why I am not a fan of condoms. Don't get me wrong, it is a great invention and most people have zero reaction to it but I find that although I can deal with latex on my hands and have never had a severe allergic reaction to it, condoms are simply-- irritating. There are condoms made specifically for those allergic to latex but are on the expensive side. If you and your girlfriend are willing to get tested for STD's and trust each other without a condom, then an alternative such as birth control pills can certainly alleviate your girlfriend from the irritation.
Good Luck.

Yes, condoms can and do cause irritation to the tender tissues of the vagina, mouth and anus, and a 2005 German study showed that condoms do indeed contain carcinogens. Condom use is necessitated only when a possible sexual partner is suspected of being infected with a sexually transmittable disease - but in that case - aside from sailors in foreign ports, one would probably refrain from engaging in sexual relations with them anyway! It is a fact that any regularly used product that causes irritation to the skin (tags on clothing, for example, or rubber condoms) or the tender mucous membranes can lead to various forms of cancer in the future. These are synthetically produced substances that are unnatural and foreign to our bodies. In fact, some individuals develop severe allergic reactions to condoms almost immediately - in the rest of us, the reactions may take years to finally work their mischief. The only condoms that do not contain carcinogens are those naturally made from sheep's intestines. Using a rubber condom may help one elude infection from a sexually transmissible disease short term, but we must consider the very extreme danger that exists from long term use which leads to either deadly cervical cancer or ovarian cancer. Any physician who tells people otherwise is either irresponsibly ignorant or deliberately dense.
