Lisa describes how she handled losing one of her triplets during pregnancy.
Lisa:
When I first found out I was pregnant with triplets, I am not a very big person to be able to handle a triplet pregnancy. A lot of triplet pregnancies do not end up in a good way. They can be born very early, they can have diseases such as cerebral palsy, and it usually doesn’t end up well. My doctors had told me that I would have to reduce down to two babies from three for the safety of the two other babies’ lives.
Fortunately, and I say fortunately, when I went to get the genetic testing done, one of them had passed on their own, which is what we were hoping and I feel so guilty for saying that because some people try so hard to have a baby, but I was hoping that one would go on its own because I didn’t want to have to make the decision how to choose who to reduce and a lot of people won’t reduce, but the doctor was saying for my health and the health of my babies, this is what you need to do and I was just so thankful that it happened. Mother Nature took care of it naturally.
