Hi, I’m Bailey Mosier and this is your EmpowHER HER Daily Dose.
Have you ever been in a relationship where you’re constantly breaking up and getting back together? Recent research suggests it’s in your best interest to walk away for good.
Researchers from Kansas State University found that these cyclical couples tend to be less satisfied with their partner, have worse communication, lower self-esteem, make more decisions that harm their relationship, and are less certain about their future together.
If you tend to be cyclical while dating, you’ll be cyclical while married. Trust diminishes which leads to uncertainty about the future of the relationship, further perpetuating the cycle.
Cyclical couples were more likely to experience a decline in satisfaction with marriage over time and were more likely to have a trial separation within the first three years of marriage.
So if you’ve recently gotten out of a relationship it’s best to pick up the pieces and move on, because every time you get back together it further diminishes trust in a relationship and it’s not likely it will last long term.
That wraps up your EmpowHER HER Daily Dose. Join me here at EmpowHER.com every weekday for your next dose of women’s health.
