Chemotherapy is very debilitating, and again it depends on what the strength of your medicine in the treatment needs to be for chemotherapy. So it’s different for everybody because people have different forms of cancer. But for me, it was a very aggressive treatment because I was so young. I was diagnosed when I was 34 years old and, the doctors at Mayo, the oncologist, and the radiologist felt like that the treatment needed to be very, very aggressive because of my age.
And so, the chemotherapy basically brought me to the brink of death and brought, and then, allowed me to come back to life. And for me, it was very difficult because I was so young, I was so used to being able to get up and do things for myself where your whole body feels like you can’t move.
And So that was hard, and by the time you started feeling better, it was time for another treatment. But, I would do it all over again if I had to because that chemotherapy and that difficulty of that treatment, along with radiation treatment, I had had 8 weeks of radiation following the chemotherapy treatment; all of that combined is what is allowing me to sit here and talk to you guys today. So it was well worth it.
